Some years we will be organised to have ordered flowers to be delivered in advance, or we may have bought a flowering plant a couple of days before mother’s day and hope that the blooms open up in time.

Or we may make the desperate dash down to the service station or supermarket to buy a limp bunch of daisies wrapped in silver foil or pray that there is a roadside seller with flowers on sale on our way to visit mum for Mother’s day lunch.

Now your mum might give the old line ” Don’t buy me anything” or “I don’t need anything.” But you know buying her flowers and a card will always be appreciated. ( Unless you get her the limp bunch of daisies!)
